Tandem Speed

Fixed gear tandems are plenty fast. I picked up a vintage '72 Schwinn Paramount track tandem last year, and completely smoked the local training ride with a 57x13 gearing. Sadly, swapping out parts from the originals (for a better fit) has led to multiple chain line issues. We probably had a handful of successful laps at the local velodrome here in Baton Rouge, LA. I had been wanting one for years, and I can say that as long as the stoker leans in at the correct time, the bike sticks to the track like no other single bike I have ever ridden. It handles like a school buss, but this thing is Sea Biscuit when it is on open road/track. Don't ever pass up the chance to ride a tandem on the track.
